Supporting and enabling Adults at Risk to improve their safety, including helping them leave harmful environments or situations of concern, if needed.
Keeping the person in need of support at the heart of the safeguarding response (or intervention), listening carefully to what’s important to them.
Safeguarding / whakahaumarutia is person-centred and person-directed.
This means it focuses on individual people and their situations
and it enables the person’s own voice and choice
as we work together to stop or prevent violence, abuse and neglect.
