CPVA survey for professionals

open until 13 April 2026

Kia ora koutou

We’re calling on professionals across Aotearoa New Zealand to lend your voice to an issue that’s often hidden, misunderstood, and rarely talked about: Child to Parent Violence and Abuse (CPVA).

CPVA involves children (whether under 18 or adult children) using violence or abusive behaviour toward parents, caregivers, grandparents, or siblings. Families experiencing CPVA often feel isolated, ashamed, and unsure where to turn.

Your professional insights and experience can help change that.

We have a survey that we’d like you to complete please, to capture this. The survey is open until 13 April 2026. Details below.

Why Your Insights Matter

By completing this survey, you’ll help:

  • shine a light on the real impact of CPVA on families and whānau

  • identify service gaps and challenges that frontline professionals face

  • inform policy, training, and advocacy to strengthen responses

  • contribute to a publicly available report that will support long-term change.

Quick, Secure, Confidential

Keeping your response private and confidential is assured:

  • no personal information is collected

  • responses are stored securely and accessed only by VisAble researchers

  • all reporting is fully de-identified.

The survey is open until 13 April 2026
